Purpose

On the Custom Field Schema page, you can enable users to add a New Numeric Field effortlessly.

What can you do with it?

The New Numeric Field feature empowers you to introduce numerical inputs within a Custom Field Schema. This allows users to enrich their data frameworks by adding specific numeric values, enhancing both precision and organization.

How is it done?

To add a new numeric field to your Custom Field Schema, follow these steps:

  1. Access the Page:

    • Navigate to the Custom Field Schema page where numeric fields are to be added.

  2. Initiate New Field Creation:

    • Click on Add Numeric Field.

  3. Configure Field Details:

    • Label: Define a clear, descriptive label for your new numeric field.

    • Description: Provide insightful details to explain the field’s purpose.

    • Info Icon: Add information that assists users in understanding the numeric field.

  4. Set Input Aids:

    • Placeholder: Enter hint text that previews the expected data format.

    • Step: Choose an increment value (like 1, 0.1, 0.001) to fine-tune the precision of numeric input.

  5. Establish Boundaries:

    • Min: Set the lowest possible value for data validation.

    • Max: Determine the highest possible value to ensure data integrity.

    • Warning Message: Create a warning to alert users when entries fall outside the recommended range.

  6. Default Setting:

    • Default: Assign an initial value to streamline user interaction and guide data entry.

Important Considerations

  • Ensure all numeric field labels are intuitive and relevant to avoid data entry confusion.

  • Use descriptive warnings to clearly communicate input errors.

  • Avoid overly narrow ranges that might limit necessary data entries unless essential for validation.

Best Practices

  • Consistently review field configurations to ensure they align with current data needs.

  • Keep your descriptions and info icon content updated for maximum user clarity.

  • Regularly update default values to reflect any changes in data entry requirements.
