Purpose

The Form Schema page allows users to add a New Select to a form schema, enabling customizable selection fields.

What can you do with it?

The New Select function allows you to add a selection widget to your forms. This means you can provide a list of options for users to choose from, enhancing clarity and flexibility in form submission.

How is it done?

  1. Create a New Select

    • Navigate to the Form Schema page.

    • Click on the New Select function to begin.

  2. Customize the Select Widget

    • Label: Enter a descriptive label to identify the select widget.

    • Description: Add information to clarify the purpose or usage of the select widget.

    • Info Icon: Include additional details using the info icon for user assistance.

  3. Define Options

    • Options: Input each choice within a Text Field. Repeat for every option required.

    • Add Option: Click the Button to introduce new choices.

  4. Advanced Customization

    • Multi Select: Enable the checkbox to allow multiple selections.

    • N/A Allowed: Use the checkbox to permit a "Not Applicable" option, which sets the default value.

    • Width: Set the width of the select widget using the Text Field for layout consistency.

    • Conditionals: Pick from the data selection to determine when the widget should be shown, based on values from another widget in the form schema.

Important Considerations

  • Ensure each option's text is clear and concise for user understanding.

  • Use "N/A Allowed" strategically to avoid confusion when it's not necessary.

Best Practices

  • Keep the select widget label intuitive to reflect its purpose.

  • Regularly update selectable options to stay relevant and minimize selection errors.

  • Test the visibility conditions thoroughly to ensure accurate workflow customization.
