Purpose

In the Form Schema page, New File Upload empowers you to seamlessly add file upload elements to your form. This functionality enhances user interaction and data gathering by allowing the attachment of files directly within your form schema.

What can you do with it?

With the New File Upload, easily integrate a file upload widget into your form. This feature allows users to effortlessly attach documents, ensuring that all necessary files are captured directly within the form—streamlining processes and improving data accuracy.

How is it done?

To add a New File Upload to your form schema:

  1. Navigate to the Form Schema page.

  2. Select the form you wish to enhance with the file upload capability.

  3. Click on Add New Element and choose File Upload.

  4. In the setup panel, complete the following fields:

    • Label: Define a clear and concise label for the file upload widget. This label serves as an identifier for users.

    • Description: Enter details that will help users understand what type of file should be uploaded, enhancing clarity.

    • Info Icon: Provide additional information about the file upload process, improving usability for your users.

    • Conditionals: Use conditionals to dictate when the file upload widget should be visible. Set these based on user interactions with other fields in the form.

  5. Save your changes to integrate the file upload feature into your form schema.

Important Considerations

  • Clearly label the file upload widget to avoid user confusion.

  • Ensure the description is specific to guide users on acceptable file types or sizes.

  • Keep the information provided in the Info Icon concise but informative to enhance the user experience.

  • Test conditionals thoroughly to ensure correct display logic, minimizing workflow interruptions.

Best Practices

  • Regularly review and update all form components, including file uploads, to maintain clarity and relevance.

  • Simplify user instructions to reduce potential errors and enhance usability.

  • Encourage users to upload files in commonly accepted formats to improve compatibility with your processing systems.
