What is Planning?
The Planning module helps you schedule and manage production tasks in the form of linked work orders. It's your go-to tool for laying out what needs to happen, when, and where—so teams can work in sync and stay on top of production timelines.
Think of it as a smarter way to handle production runs. Instead of building schedules from scratch every time, you start with a Production Plan—a reusable template with steps and durations. From there, you kick off a Production Run, which auto-generates the right work orders spaced out over time, complete with location assignments and scheduling logic.
You can visualize all of this in a calendar, table, or Gantt view, spot delays as they happen, and make real-time adjustments with clear downstream effects. It’s production scheduling with less guesswork and more flow.
Who is Planning for?
Planning is built for Manufacturing Planners and Production Managers, but it’s also a game-changer for anyone who needs visibility into what’s happening on the floor:
Manufacturing Planners: Create accurate, resource-aware production plans and adjust on the fly.
Production Managers: Oversee multiple runs and keep operations humming with a clear view of what's on time, delayed, or overlapping.
Other stakeholders (Sales, Finance, Operations, and Logistics): Get aligned with a unified view of production schedules, no spreadsheets required.
Ties Into What You Already Use
Planning works with your existing Work Order Types and Location data—no need to duplicate info. Each work order step in your plan is tied to real locations and durations, making scheduling more grounded in reality.
