Purpose

On the Printers List page, the New Printer function allows users to add a new printer seamlessly, enhancing operational efficiency.

What can you do with it?

The New Printer feature provides the tools to add and configure new printers to your facility. This ensures smooth printing operations and supports effective communication across devices.

How is it done?

  1. Access the Printers List Page:

    • Navigate to the Printers List within the Facility module to get started.

  2. Initiate Adding a Printer:

    • Click on the New Printer button to commence the setup process.

  3. Specify Printer Details:

    • Printer Type: Select either USB or Network using radio buttons to determine connection options.

    • Printer Name: Enter a unique identifier in the text field for easy management.

    • Printer IP: Input the IP address for network printers in the text field to ensure connectivity.

    • Printer Port: Specify the communication port in the text field.

  4. Location and Identification:

    • Printer Location: Provide information on the printer's physical location using the text field for quick maintenance access.

    • Manufacturer: Enter the maker of the printer in the text field to assist with hardware tracking.

    • Serial Number: Record the serial number in the text field for inventory purposes.

  5. Save and Confirm:

    • After verifying the details, save your changes to add the new printer to the list.

Important Considerations

  • Correct Information: Double-check the Printer IP and Port for network connectivity.

  • Unique Identification: Make sure the Printer Name and Serial Number are accurately entered to avoid duplicates.

Best Practices

  • Regularly update the Printer Location for accurate resource management.

  • Maintain consistent records by confirming manufacturer details and serial numbers.
