Purpose
On the User Role Detail page, you can set user role permissions to tailor access levels for different user roles.
What can you do with it?
The Set User Role Permissions feature allows you to define and customize what actions a user role can perform within the system. By setting these permissions, you can control who has the ability to view, add, edit, or delete items within various modules of your facility, ensuring each user has the appropriate level of access based on their role.
How is it done?
Access the User Role Detail Page:
Navigate to the Facility module.
Select the User Role Detail page.
Enter User Role Information:
User Role Name: Enter the name of the role in the text field.
Archive: Use the checkbox to archive non-active roles.
Define Permissions for Modules:
Applicable Products:
- Configure permissions to **Add**, **Edit**, and **View** applicable products.
Batch Management:
- Control actions such as **Add**, **Edit**, **Propagate**, and **Remove** batches.
Bill of Materials:
- Define capabilities to **Add**, **Edit**, and **View** materials.
Applicable Fields for Other Activities:
Inventory Management:
- Set permissions for **Add**, **Adjustment**, **Edit**, **Remove**, and **View** of inventories and associated details like categories, products, and units.
Facilities Management:
- Enable facility-related tasks like **Add**, **Edit**, **Remove**, and **View**.
User and Role Management:
- Allow control over user creation, role assignment, and access level changes using **Add**, **Edit**, **Remove**, and **View** options.
Final Steps:
After setting all required permissions, verify your selections.
Confirm and save your settings by clicking on the relevant button to solidify changes.
Important Considerations
Ensure user roles are regularly reviewed and updated to reflect any changes in operational needs.
Archiving a role does not delete it; it merely deactivates user access.
Best Practices
Consistency: Maintain a standard naming convention for roles to avoid confusion.
Security: Limit permissions to only what is necessary for each role to minimize risk.
Documentation: Keep a record of role settings adjustments for future reference and audits.
