Purpose
Within the Work Order Detail page, the Add Inventory by Location Input tool allows users to efficiently add inventory as input to a Work Order by defining its location accurately.
What can you do with it?
The goal of the Add Inventory by Location Input is to streamline the process of assigning inventory to a Work Order by selecting specific locations, ensuring precise inventory management. This function simplifies selecting inventory, enhancing workflow productivity by effectively categorizing input through location.
How is it done?
Location Selection
Use the Data Select of Locations to set the location for your inventory input.
Product and Batch Identification
Choose your desired Product through Data Select of Inventory Products.
If relevant, use Data Select of Batches to associate an available batch with your chosen product.
Lot and Inventory Specification
Enable the Source Lot option by ticking the checkbox if lot selection is needed.
Use the Data Select of Active Lots to specify the desired lot of inventory.
If necessary, enable the Source Inventory option to specify your Inventory ID.
Engage the Data Multi-Select of Active Inventory Items to assign multiple inventory items.
Inventory Management
Opt for Use Remaining Inventory to consume inventory from the previously selected lot.
Input the Quantity through the numeric field, ensuring it does not surpass the Amount Available.
Select the proper Inventory Unit corresponding to the chosen product through the data select.
Timestamping
Use the Date Picker to adjust the Timestamp. If not backdated, it defaults to the current date and time but cannot precede the Work Order Open Date & Time.
Important Considerations
Each field's selection directly impacts the Work Order's inventory allocation, so choose accurately.
Ensure that the quantity entered does not exceed the available amount to prevent errors.
Backdating is restricted; actions cannot date prior to the Work Order's open date.
Best Practices
Double-check entries to avoid misallocations and ensure that all listed inventory data is up-to-date.
Regularly update location and product selections to match real-world inventory changes for seamless operations.
Use clear timestamps consistent with your operation schedules to maintain accurate chronological records.
