Purpose
On the Work Order Detail page, the Add Inventory by Lot Input feature allows users to efficiently add inventory as input to a work order by selecting specific lots.
What can you do with it?
With the Add Inventory by Lot Input, users can accurately link inventory to specific work orders by selecting from active inventory lots. This ensures precise tracking and allocation of resources, optimizing the management of your production workflow.
How is it done?
Select the Source Lot:
Choose from a data select list of active lots to set the desired lot of inventory for your work order.
Use Remaining Inventory:
Enable the checkbox if you wish to automatically consume the remaining inventory from a previously selected lot.
Set Quantity and Unit:
Enter the desired quantity in the numeric field. Make sure it’s not greater than the available amount.
In the data select field, choose the inventory unit associated with the chosen inventory product to specify the unit of measurement.
Timestamp the Action:
Use the date select to timestamp your action. If left blank, this defaults to the current date and time, but cannot be backdated beyond the work order open date and time.
Multi-Select Inventory Items:
From the data multi-select list of active inventory items, pick the desired inventory items.
Finalize Quantity and Unit for Inventory Items:
Again, input the quantity using the numeric field, ensuring it doesn’t exceed the available amount.
Select the appropriate inventory unit from the data select field.
Important Considerations
Ensure quantities set do not exceed available inventory to prevent errors.
Adjust the timestamp carefully. Actions cannot be set before the work order open date and time.
Review your selections of lots and inventory items meticulously to avoid issues in resource allocation.
Best Practices
Frequently verify inventory levels to maintain accuracy.
Use the Use Remaining Inventory checkbox strategically to maximize resources and minimize waste.
Regularly update and audit inventory data to ensure all information is current and reliable.
