Purpose

On the Work Order Detail page, Close Work Order enables users to finalize work orders. It streamlines the process of completing a work order accurately and efficiently.

What can you do with it?

The Close Work Order function is your go-to tool for completing work orders once all tasks are finished. It's essential to ensure all operations related to the work order are executed and finalized, helping you maintain organization and clarity in your production process. This function allows you to set a closing date and choose a final destination for your outputs.

How is it done?

  1. Set the Closing Date:

    • Choose a date using the Date Select option. If no date is selected, the system will automatically use the current date and time.

    • Note: The closing date cannot be backdated before the Work Order Opening or related event dates.

  2. Decide on Destination Location (optional):

    • Utilize the Data Select of Locations to specify where the output batches will be moved after the work order is closed.

    • If a destination is not selected, outputs will remain at their current location.

  3. Confirm and Complete:

    • Once inputs are made, ensure all details are accurate.

    • Finalize the closure by confirming the action, successfully completing the work order.

Important Considerations

  • Be mindful that the closing date can't precede the dates related to opening the work order, inputs, outputs, or destruction events.

  • Ensure the destination location is chosen carefully if outputs need to be moved, as this decision influences the next steps in your workflow.

Best Practices

  • Regularly verify that all related tasks and documentation are complete before closing a work order to avoid discrepancies.

  • Consistently update your team about the location of outputs to maintain workflow transparency.

  • Double-check your entries for accuracy to prevent any post-closure issues.
