New Date/Time in Custom Field Schema

Purpose

On the Custom Field Schema page, the New Date/Time function allows you to seamlessly add a Date Select to your form schema.

What can you do with it?

With the New Date/Time feature, you can introduce a date selection tool within any form, empowering precise scheduling and time tracking. This addition is perfect for creating records that require accurate timestamping and enhances user interaction by allowing tailored time input.

How is it done?

  1. Access the Custom Field Schema Begin by navigating to the Custom Field Schema page within the Quality module.

  2. Select New Date/Time Choose the New Date/Time option to initiate adding a date and time picker to your form.

  3. Input User Information 3.1 Label: Provide a distinct identifying name for the date picker. 3.2 Description: Add a short overview describing the function or purpose of the date/time picker. 3.3 Info Icon: Supply additional information that assists in clarifying the picker's use.

  4. Specify Picker Type Use the Radio Button Group to choose whether users can select a date, time, or both, affecting how precise your timestamps will be.

Important Considerations

  • The Label serves as an identifier, so choose a clear and relevant name.

  • Include a Description to enhance user clarity and reduce errors.

  • Utilize the Info Icon to offer quick insights without cluttering the form.

  • Picking the correct Picker option—date, time, or both—directly impacts how your data is utilized.

Best Practices

  • Keep your Label concise and easily understandable for all users.

  • Write a Description that adds value by explaining the intended use but remain succinct.

  • Use the Info Icon sparingly but wisely to guide users without overwhelming them.
