Purpose

The Plant Detail page allows users to edit plant details using the Edit Plant feature. This functionality enables cultivators to modify essential information about individual plants in their inventory.

What can you do with it?

With Edit Plant, you can update crucial plant data to maintain accurate records. This feature allows users to edit plant details such as the plant's name and genetic characteristics (mother plant or male plant status).

How is it done?

Follow these steps to edit plant details:

  1. Access Plant Detail

    • Navigate to the Plant Detail page for the specific plant you want to edit.

  2. Initiate Edit Mode

    • Locate and click the "Edit Plant" button to begin making changes.

  3. Update Plant Information

    • Name:

      • Enter the new plant name in the text field provided.

    • Genetic Traits:

      • Is Mother: Check this box if the plant is a mother plant.

      • Is Male: Check this box if the plant is a male plant.

  4. Save Changes

    • After making your desired edits, click the "Save" or "Update" button to confirm and apply the changes.

Important Considerations

  • Changing a plant's name or genetic traits can impact tracking and reporting, so double-check your entries before saving.

  • The "Is Mother" and "Is Male" options are mutually exclusive for most plant species. Be cautious when selecting these options.

  • Updating plant details may affect related records or reports within the system.

Best Practices

  • Regularly review and update plant information to maintain accurate cultivation records.

  • Use consistent naming conventions for plants to improve organization and searchability.

  • When designating mother or male plants, ensure this aligns with your cultivation strategy and breeding programs.

  • After editing, verify that the changes are reflected correctly in the Plant Detail view and any related reports or dashboards.
