Purpose

The Print Labels feature in the Plant Detail page allows users to create and print customized labels for plants and associated entities. This streamlines tracking and identification processes.

What can you do with it?

With Print Labels, you can:

  • Generate labels for plants, batches, locations, work orders, destruction lots, and inventory lots

  • Customize label content and barcode types

  • Select specific printers and label templates

  • Print multiple labels in a single batch

This functionality helps maintain accurate records and simplifies plant management throughout the cultivation process.

How is it done?

  1. Access the Print Labels feature

    • Navigate to the Plant Detail page

    • Locate and click the "Print Labels" button

  2. Configure label settings

    • Choose the Entity Type (Plant, Batch, Location, etc.)

    • Select the Barcode Type (Batch or Plant)

    • Pick a Printer from the available options

    • Choose a Printer Job Template

    • Set the Label Quantity

  3. Customize label content

    • The form will update based on your Entity Type selection

    • For Plant labels, the Plant ID will be pre-filled

  4. Review and print

    • Double-check all settings and information

    • Click "Print" to send the job to the selected printer

Important Considerations

  • Barcode types determine where users will be directed when scanning:

    • Batch barcodes link to the Batch page

    • Plant barcodes link to the Plant page

  • Ensure the correct printer and label template are selected for your needs

  • Verify the label quantity before printing to avoid waste

Best Practices

  • Regularly update printer lists and label templates for optimal efficiency

  • Use consistent naming conventions for batches and plants to improve traceability

  • Print a test label before large batch prints to confirm settings and quality

  • Organize label types by growth stage or area to streamline workflows
