Purpose
Within the Work Order Detail page, the Add Plants Input feature allows users to efficiently incorporate plants into a work order, enhancing overall inventory management.
What can you do with it?
The Add Plants Input function offers a streamlined process to add plants into a work order, ensuring accurate tracking and resource allocation. It enhances workflow accuracy and contributes to effective production planning by facilitating seamless integration of plant data.
How is it done?
To add plants to a work order, follow these steps:
Select Source Batch:
Choose the batch from which the plants will be sourced. This ensures the right plants are aligned with the right work order.
Select Source Lot (not currently supported):
Intended to specify the lot within a batch, but this function is not supported at the moment.
Use Remaining Plants:
Optionally check this box if you wish to use the remaining plants from a selected batch, streamlining the input process.
Use Specific Plant Ids:
Check this option to enable a more granular selection of specific Plant IDs. This action removes the number of plants field, offering direct selection of plant identifiers via a dropdown.
Specify Plant Ids:
Use the dropdown to select specific Plant IDs when the above box is checked, ensuring precise plant tracking.
Input Number of Plants:
Enter the total number of plants to be added. This field is replaced by the Plant Ids dropdown if the specific identifiers are used.
Set Timestamp:
Specify the date and time for this action to align with the work order schedule. Note that this date cannot precede the work order’s open date and time.
Important Considerations
Ensure the timestamp aligns correctly with the work order's open date to prevent processing errors.
If using the Use Specific Plant Ids option, verify all ID selections are accurate for precise input.
Double-check batch selections for correct plant sourcing, especially if subsequently relying on remaining plants.
Best Practices
Regularly update and review plant and batch data to maintain accurate and predictable workflows.
Use the timestamp feature wisely to record precise plant input actions and maintain a clear record of events.
Routinely audit plant input actions to fine-tune your workflow and prevent bottlenecks in your production management process.
