Purpose

In the Production Batch Detail page, Inventory Reconciliation allows users to manually adjust inventory within a batch. A work order is generated to record the inventory reconciliation, ensuring all changes are documented comprehensively.

What can you do with it?

Inventory Reconciliation provides the ability to make necessary adjustments to batch inventory. Whether updating quantities due to discrepancies or managing relocation of stock, this feature ensures accurate inventory tracking. Each adjustment is documented through the generation of a work order, maintaining a clear record of all changes for future reference.

How is it done?

Follow these steps to perform an inventory reconciliation:

  1. Select Inventory Product

    • Begin by choosing the product you wish to reconcile from the available options. This sets the foundation for your adjustment.

  2. Specify Destination Location

    • Choose the location where the inventory will be assigned. Accurate location assignment ensures correct stock placement.

  3. Manage Lot Tracking

    • Decide whether to Create a New Lot or Use an Existing Lot.

      • Create New Lot: Enter a new lot name or leave it blank for system generation.

      • Use Existing Lot: Select from a list of current lots.

  4. Adjust Inventory

    • Indicate the Adjustment Type: choose whether to add or subtract inventory.

    • Enter the Value of the adjustment, specifying the exact quantity for reconciliation.

    • Choose the appropriate Inventory Unit for measurement.

  5. Assign SKU and Define Reason

    • Select the correct SKU associated with your inventory lot.

    • Provide a Reason for the adjustment, using pre-defined options or specify a unique reason under “Other.”

  6. Add Description and Set Date

    • Add any necessary context in the Description field.

    • Set the Date of the adjustment. If left blank, the system automatically uses the current date and time.

Important Considerations

  • Ensure accuracy when selecting products, locations, and SKUs to prevent errors in reconciliation.

  • Double-check the lot details, especially when creating new lots, to maintain clear tracking.

  • Consider future audits by providing comprehensive reasons and descriptions for adjustments.

Best Practices

  • Regularly review inventory to identify adjustments promptly.

  • Use standardized naming conventions for new lots to ensure consistency.

  • Utilize the backdating feature judiciously, ensuring the chosen date reflects the actual stock movement date.

  • Maintain clear communication with your team about reasons and descriptions to enhance understanding and audit trail clarity.
