Purpose
On the Work Order Detail page, users can create a Destruction Event of Inventory that is not associated with a batch. This function enables precise inventory management by allowing for standalone destruction events.
What can you do with it?
The Destruction Event of Inventory without a Batch feature empowers you to accurately record inventory that needs to be destroyed, independent of batch associations. This ensures flexibility in inventory control, particularly for items needing disposal that haven't been processed through a batch system.
How is it done?
Follow these steps to create a Destruction Event:
Select Destruction Lot: Choose from available open destruction lots to ensure the event is correctly categorized.
Select Product: Identify the inventory product to be destroyed. Select from products listed in the work order input/output.
Choose Vendor: Pick the vendor associated with the chosen product. This helps in maintaining clear records of product origins.
Select Destroy From Lot: Specify the active lot from which the inventory will be destroyed.
Enter Quantity: Input the precise amount of inventory for destruction. Use the numeric field for accuracy.
Specify Inventory Unit: Choose the unit of measurement related to the product's inventory.
State Destruction Reason: Select a reason for destruction from the available options. This categorizes the reason for disposal.
Add Description: Use the text area to provide any additional comments relevant to the destruction event.
Set Timestamp: Decide the date and time of the event. If left blank, it defaults to the current moment but cannot predate the work order's open date and time.
Important Considerations
Ensure the selected destruction lot correlates accurately with the intended inventory product.
Double-check the quantity and units to prevent discrepancies. Incorrect data may lead to inaccurate inventory records.
Best Practices
Validation: Regularly review and validate all inputs before submission to minimize errors.
Documentation: Maintain detailed descriptions and confirm timestamp accuracy for future reference and auditing purposes.
Review Destruction Reasons: Ensure that the selected reason aligns with organizational protocols to facilitate clear reporting.
This documentation ensures that inventory management through Elevated Signals remains efficient, with destruction events properly recorded and managed without batch dependencies.
