Purpose

On the Production Batch Detail page, you have the ability to facilitate Inventory Destruction. This feature allows users to create a Destruction Event for inventory contained within a production batch.

What can you do with it?

The Inventory Destruction feature enables you to efficiently manage the removal of inventory from your production processes. By allowing users to create a Destruction Event, you can precisely track which items are being discarded, ensuring compliance and accurate record-keeping.

How is it done?

  1. Select Your Destruction Lot:

    • Use the Data Select tool to choose the specific destruction lot where the removal will take place.

  2. Identify the Inventory:

    • Choose the Product and Batch related to the inventory you wish to destroy.

    • Ensure the Inventory Exists in System box is checked when applicable.

  3. Specify Inventory Details:

    • Optionally, choose the Destroy From Lot for precise targeting.

    • Select the relevant Inventory ID for the item in question.

  4. Determine Inventory Usage:

    • Enable the Use Remaining Inventory checkbox if you wish to consume all remaining items.

    • Enter the Quantity of inventory to be destroyed, mindful not to exceed the Amount Available.

    • Specify the Inventory Unit to clarify measurement standards.

  5. Document the Event:

    • State the Destruction Reason to ensure clarity and accountability.

    • Provide a detailed Description of the event.

    • Record the Timestamp; if left blank, it defaults to the current date and time.

Important Considerations

  • Always double-check that the Destruction Lot, Product, and Batch align with your intentions before proceeding.

  • Be aware that certain fields, such as Batch and Product, may be immutable if initiated from specific actions.

Best Practices

  • Consistently review your Inventory Unit selections to ensure accurate data tracking.

  • Thoroughly document each Destruction Event with a clear description and valid reasons to maintain a transparent audit trail.

  • Utilize the Amount Available field to guide your quantity entries and prevent over-reporting destruction activities.
