Purpose
Within the Inventory Item Detail page, the Move Location function allows users to seamlessly relocate an inventory item to a different location.
What can you do with it?
The goal of the Move Location feature is to provide a streamlined process for repositioning inventory items. This functionality empowers users to efficiently manage and update item locations as operational demands change, ensuring up-to-date inventory tracking.
How is it done?
Access Inventory Item Detail: Navigate to the Inventory Item Detail page to begin.
Select Move Location: Find and click on the Move Location function to initiate the process.
Choose Destination Location:
Use the Data Select tool to pick the desired destination from the available locations.
Set the Date Lot Moved:
Enter the date using the Date Select option.
Note: If the date is left empty, it automatically sets to the current date and time.
Review and Confirm: Double-check the chosen location and date to confirm your selections before proceeding.
Finalize Move: Confirm the move to update the item's location details.
Important Considerations
Date Limitations: The move date cannot be set earlier than the last ordered or received date and time.
Accurate Inputs: Ensure both the destination and move date are accurate to prevent discrepancies in inventory records.
Best Practices
Regularly Update: Consistently review and adjust inventory locations to reflect current storage situations.
Double-Check Entries: Verify both location and date inputs prior to confirmation to minimize errors.
Stay Informed: Keep abreast of inventory activity to make informed decisions when moving items.
