Overview

Unfortunately, not every plant gets to live its best life and reach harvest. When that happens, you’ll need to record a Destruction Event—basically a log that tracks what was destroyed and why. These are grouped into what we call a Destruction Lot.

Before You Start

Before getting started, make sure:

  • You’ve got the right permissions (Admins and Members are good to go!)

  • You know which Batch the plants are coming from

  • You’ve got a clear reason for why they’re being destroyed

Step 1: Find the Right Batch

Let’s make sure we’re working with the correct plants.

  1. Head over to the Batch Detail page for the batch in question.

  2. Click Batch Actions.

  3. Select Destroy Plants from the dropdown.

Step 2: Fill Out the Destruction Form

This is where you log what happened to the plants.

  1. Choose how you want to Destroy By:

    • Plant Count – for a bulk amount without needing to ID each one

    • Plant ID(s) – for tracking specific plants

  2. Select a Destruction Lot to group this event with others (or hit the grey + to create a new one).

  3. Weight (g) (optional) – if you want to record how much plant material is being destroyed.

  4. Pick a Destruction Reason—for example, “Non-Viable”. Use the + to add a new reason if needed.

  5. Add a Description to include any extra context or details.

  6. Set the Collected On date to backdate the event if needed.

🗒️ Note: Logging the Destruction Event means the plants have been collected for destruction—but they’re not fully “destroyed” until the Destruction Lot is officially closed.

Troubleshooting

  • Problem: I can’t destroy the Plants in the Batch

    • Fix: Check if the batch has a locked or restricted status. If it does, you’ll need to chat with your system Admin or contact Elevated Signals Support for help.
