Purpose

Within the Production Batch Detail page, the Set Status feature empowers users to smoothly update the status of a batch.

What can you do with it?

With the Set Status function, you are given the flexibility to control and track the progression of your batches. This is achieved by setting statuses that best reflect current production stages or requirements. Navigating your workflow becomes seamless, keeping everyone informed and ensuring consistency in tracking.

How is it done?

  1. Launch the Production Batch Detail Page: Navigate to the ‘Production Batch Detail’ page where you want to manage your batch status.

  2. Select the Batch: Use the data select feature, which is locked to batches, to choose the batch whose status you wish to update.

  3. Choose a Status:

    • Access the data select list that displays available statuses.

    • Pick a status that aligns with your current batch needs.

  4. Provide a Reason:

    • Enter a reason for the status change in the available text area.

    • This helps keep a record for others viewing the batch details.

  5. Confirm Changes: Review your selections and confirm to update the batch status. This will log a note in the activity log report under the “Note” column.

Important Considerations

  • Blocking vs. Non-blocking Status: Selecting a blocking status means other functions within the batch will be temporarily unavailable until a non-blocking status is applied.

  • Activity Log Update: Every status change reflects in the activity log, providing transparency and aiding in traceability.

Best Practices

  • Regularly Update Statuses: Keep batch statuses current to ensure accurate reporting and workflow continuity.

  • Clear Reasons: Always provide detailed reasons for status changes to support team understanding and document the decision-making process.

Following these guidelines ensures that the Set Status feature works effectively, minimizing disruptions, and enhancing batch management.
