Purpose

In the Destruction Lot Detail page, the Destruction Event by SKU feature allows users to initiate a specific Destruction Event by SKU. This utility generates a Destruction Event inside the specified Destruction Lot, providing a systematic approach to managing inventory destruction.

What can you do with it?

The Destruction Event by SKU is designed to streamline the process of recording and tracking inventory destruction events at a SKU level. By enabling users to create a Destruction Event within the Destruction Lot, this function ensures that specific products are accounted for and managed efficiently during the destruction process.

How is it done?

  1. Select the Destruction Lot:

    • Use Data Select to choose an open Destruction Lot. This will be the location for your destruction event.

  2. Input SKU and Product Details:

    • Use the Select option to choose the SKU of the inventory product you are dealing with.

    • Confirm the Inventory Product details through the Data Select function, ensuring it's from the Work Order Input/Output.

  3. Inventory Specifications:

    • Verify Inventory Exists in System: This is typically disabled for Cultivation Destruction. Enable only if inventory is confirmed available.

  4. Specify Inventory Lot and Items:

    • Select the relevant Inventory Lot using Data Select.

    • Choose specific Inventory Items within the selected Lot using the Multi-Select option.

  5. Determine Inventory Quantity and Units:

    • If all remaining inventory is to be destroyed at once, check Use Remaining Inventory.

    • Specify the Quantity to be destroyed if partial inventory destruction is intended.

    • Determine the Inventory Unit through Data Select for accurate measurement.

  6. Finalize Event Details:

    • Review the Amount Available to ensure it matches with destruction plans. This updates automatically.

    • Select a Destruction Reason from the options provided.

    • Add a Description for additional context or notes on the event.

    • Timestamp the action. Leave empty to auto-set to current date/time, but remember it cannot precede the Destruction Lot Open Date & Time.

Important Considerations

  • Make sure to accurately select the Destruction Lot as it determines the entire location context for the event.

  • Double-check the inventory specifics to prevent accidental destruction of unintended items.

  • Timestamp accuracy is crucial; remember that backdating before the Destruction Lot's initiation is not permissible.

Best Practices

  • Perform a cross-check on all inventory details before confirming the destruction event to minimize errors.

  • Use detailed descriptions to create a clear record of the Destruction Event for future reference.

  • Regularly update and audit your lot records to ensure compliance and accuracy in event management.
