Understanding the Editing Restrictions

  • Active Inventory: Destruction events that affect active inventory can’t be edited directly. This restriction is in place to maintain the accuracy of inventory records that impact available stock levels.

  • Non-Existent Inventory: Destruction events created against non-existent inventory (such as byproducts or non-active items) can be edited, as these items do not impact current stock levels.

Solution: Deleting and Re-Creating the Destruction Event

If you need to correct an error in a destruction event linked to active inventory, the recommended approach is to delete and re-create the event:

  1. Delete the Incorrect Destruction Event:

    • Locate the destruction event you wish to correct.

    • Use the Delete option in the drop-down menu to remove the event.

  2. Re-create the Destruction Event with the Correct Quantity:

    • Set up a new destruction event with the accurate quantity, ensuring inventory records are up-to-date.

Note: This process ensures that the inventory records reflect the correct quantity without impacting stock accuracy.
