Overview

Every batch has a life cycle, and when the work is done, it’s time to officially close it. This keeps things clean and prevents any accidental logging of new Records, Inventory, or Plant activity to a batch that’s already wrapped up.

Before You Start

Here's what you need to verify before proceeding:

  • You have permission to close a batch (Admins and Members do!)

  • You’re sure there’s no more Inventory or Plants tied to the batch

  • No additional Records need to reference this batch

  • It’s truly done—nothing more should happen to it

Step 1: Navigate to the Batch

Let’s locate the batch you want to close.

  1. Go to the Batch Detail page. You can find it via:

    • The Cultivation Batches or Production Batches pages

    • Or simply use the search bar at the top

  2. Click on Batch Actions.

  3. Choose Close Batch from the menu.

Step 2: Fill out the Form

Let the system know exactly when the batch ended.

  1. Use the calendar picker to choose the date and time the batch officially ended.

  2. Click Close to confirm the action.

  3. Changed your mind? Click Cancel to back out safely.

Troubleshooting

  • Problem: I can’t close the Batch.

    • Fix: Make sure there are no active Plants or Inventory still tied to the batch. If you’re trying to backdate the closure, double-check that your date doesn’t overlap with any logged Plant, Inventory, or Record activity. The system won’t let you close it if anything happened after that date.
