Overview
Use the Plant Propagation Batch Action to grow your next generation of Plants. This quick guide shows you how to take cuttings from Mother Plants and track them in your system — it’s as easy as snip, record, done.
Before You Start
You’ll need permission to propagate Plants. Admins and Members are good to go.
Make sure your Mother Batch has live Plants in the Vegetative Growth Stage.
(Optional) Decide if your new Plants should go into a brand new Batch or join an existing one.
Step 1: Open the “Propagate Plants” Form
Let’s start at the source — your Mother Batch.
Head to the Batch Detail page for the Mother Batch.
Click Batch Actions.
Choose Propagate Plants from the dropdown.
Step 2: Fill in the Propagation Details
Here’s where you capture the cuttings.
Enter how many plants you’re taking cuttings from in Number of Mother Plants.
Choose New Batch or Existing Batch for where your new Plants will go.
🗒️ Need help creating a new one? Check out the “Create a Cultivation or Production Batch” guide.Type the total number of cuttings in Number of Cuttings.
Pick the Growth Stage for your new Plants — typically “Propagation”.
Click + Propagate Plants to lock it in.
🎉 Boom — your new Plants are officially on the books.
✅ Pro Tip: This action is treated like a Work Order! You can log a Description, Equipment, or attach Records for full traceability.
✅ Pro Tip: Use the calendar icon to backdate the propagation if you're entering past work.
🗒️ Note: Want to track exactly which Mother Plants were used? Turn on Use Specific Mother Plant Ids and select them from the list.
Troubleshooting
Problem: Can’t find your new Plants?
Fix: Check the Cultivation Batches page or search by Batch name using the Search bar at the top of your screen.
